The EDA monitors and reports on key regulations/regulatory issues that affect dealers and how they do business. This includes, but is not limited to, regulations implemented by the FTC, the IRS, the EPA, and the DOL. In addition, we monitor and report on local regulations that are anticipated to have a widespread impact. Finally, we monitor and report on issues that affect our industry and our supply chain.
EDA provides internal resources and/or connect dealers with the external resources they need to ensure their businesses are compliant with applicable regulations.
EDA influences the regulations that affect our dealers and their respective business operations. We do this through various avenues. First, we advocate on behalf of dealers by submitting formal comments during the rulemaking process. In submitting formal comments, EDA provides the agency with the Association’s position, including suggestions for consideration and modifications. EDA also supports legislation that controls and/or limits the discretion of regulatory agencies.
