The Equipment Dealers Association (EDA) welcomes the passage of The Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 (“2018 Farm Bill”) by the House yesterday by a vote of 213-211. We appreciate the hard work of EDA dealers on the Hill and in their home districts to accomplish this goal.
The 2018 Farm Bill passed by the House yesterday includes policies which, if signed into law, will fund crop insurance programs at the same levels as 2014, support production agriculture and provide the industry with consistency and stability for the next five years. “A strong farm economy leads to a strong equipment sector. Our dealers are partners with their farmer customers and EDA has lobbied extensively to preserve crop insurance which helps protect an estimated 298 million acres of farmland every year. We were also pleased to see the Precision Agriculture Connectivity Act of 2018 included within the text of this bill as it will aid in modernizing rural infrastructure to maximize production and ensure American farmers can continue to feed the world. We will continue to lobby in the Senate and encourage the members to take prompt and decisive action on their companion bill.” said Kim Rominger, EDA’s Chief Executive Officer.
